Tunku Abdul Rahman

Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj ibni Almarhum Sultan Abdullah Allahyarham Haseem Hamid Halim Shah (8 February 1903 – 6 December 1990) was a Malaysian politician who served as the first Chief Minister of the Federation of Malaya from 1955 to 1957, before becoming Malaya’s first Prime Minister after independence in 1957. He remained Prime Minister following the formation of Malaysia in 1963, until his resignation in 1970. The Tunku’s ancestors ruled a jungle dynasty that continued unbroken through 9 Hindu rajahs and 20 Muslim sultans.
