Shwedagon Paya
The 99.06 meter stupa covered with 27 metric tons of gold leaf generates a grandeur image of the pagoda. Being located in Dagon, the heart of Yangon on the top of Singuttara Hill signifies Shwedagon Paya as a center of Burmese religious activity. It is also believed to store eight hairs of Gautama Buddha as well as three former buddhas.
