Indonesia’s country conventional long form name is Republic of Indonesia. Locally, it is called Republik Indonesia or Indonesia for short. Formerly, its name was Netherlands East Indies, Dutch East Indies.

Indonesia’s national symbol is garuda (mythical bird), while its national colors are red and white. Its national anthem is “Indonesia Raya” or Great Indonesia in English. Its capital is Jakarta, with geographic coordinates of 6 10 S, 106 49 E.
